Our Story

Brandon and I met in Mr. Weyand's English class our Sophomore year of High School. I was moved to the back of the class because I kept talking, and I sat next to this big football player who had the longest eyelashes I'd ever seen. My first words to him were "Hi, I'm Katie. You have really pretty eyelashes!" Those would be the first words that would lead us into eternity. We were best friends all throughoug High School. When I moved to Las Vegas our Junior year, he was one of the very few that I stayed in contact with. For the last two year of school we always wanted to (I quote) "hook up". But we never got the chance. Whenever he was single, I had a boyfriend. When I was single, he had a girlfriend. We never seemed to get the chance to see how we'd go together.
After graduation, Brandon moved to Ephraim to play football at Snow College and I moved back up to Provo. The next May Brandon came home for summer and we met up and decided to take a shot at dating that summer. I admit I made it pretty difficult, I would break up with him almost every weekend. The poor guy, I have no idea why he stuck with me when I was making things so difficult. That summer was the best of my life so far. Boondocks, Jet Skiing, Lagoon and countless other fantastic dates. We were both pretty much broke by the end of that summer.

I moved to St. George and the end of the summer and Brandon went back to Ephriam. We ended it mutually, deciding it was fun but we were headed our separate ways. HA! We kept it touch constantly that whole year. We only saw each other once at Christmas though, until the 24th of July in 2009, when I went up north for a family reunion. The first time I saw him, my stomach litterally dropped to my knees. I'd forgotten how ridiculously attractive he was. I later learned that when he saw me the first thought that went through is head was "Dang, I'm gonna make her my wife."  I had butterflies that whole night. From that point on, every chance we got we would get together. After I graduated from Cosmetology School and Brandon went back to Snow, I traveled up to one of his games and spent the weekend with his family. I'd have to say that is when it hit me, how strongly  I felt for him. The next few months went by with travels to and from St. George and Ephraim. There were many times when Brandon would drive until 2am just because he wanted to come down to take me to dinner. How can you not fall for a man who is willing to do that for you? He proposed on February 24th and we were married May 7th, 2010 in the St. George Temple.
So many time Brandon could have given up on me and he didn't. And I will be eternally thankful because of this. Heavenly Father could not have designed a more perfect match!
